The Documentary Pump opened my eyes to how much oil effects our everyday lives. It showed how just one simple hack to your car could change the world for the better. It opened my eyes to the flex fuel world where you can chose what you put into your car and how easy the switch over is. Alternative fuel is not only better for the environment, but also less expensive making it an easy decision. The only problem is the conspiracy that is the oil company, because they have an extensive amount of money any other company who tries to change the fuel industry gets paid and vast amount of money under the table to not change it just so the fuel companies can be the most needed company out there.
There used to be 3 major car companies Ford, General Motors and Dodge-Chrysler, but as time went on more and more car companies starting coming up with better and new things to offer, meaning the three companies had to work harder, make fancier things and spend more money. General Motors became bankrupt and had to join with the Chrysler Company just to stay afloat. Too much success the GM Company is still producing cars today is cooperation with Chrysler.
The new fuel type is called ethanol and it is just alcohol which can be made from so many different things, like wheat from a farm, whereas oil is getting scarce and it is expensive to dig up and requires a lot man power. Ethanol is not only easier to make it costs way less and requires less power to make more, it is also much better for the environment. You could make ethanol with simple things in your backyard.
Another way you could change the environment and move us farther away from the oil world is simply by walking or biking to school. While taking pictures for the project I saw that in our school more people drive to school then bike and walk. Granted a lot of people take the bus or get driven in but I feel if the people close enough to school could walk or bike we could cut down on the cars that come to school thus lowering the fuel that is being used thus crying for days. I feel the switch would be so hard but for people living out of town it would be much harder, but we could instead switch our cars to flex fuel to cut down on the use of fuel.
In conclusion, the switch from fuel to flex fuel would be simple and only require a tiny bit of effort and the ultimate destruction of the oil and gas companies view for an oil dominated world. I feel if we could switch from oil to alternative fuels we could change the world to a better place for future generations to come and make it a safer, cleaner place for us to live in now
